The "COOL Bus" Tour : Phase II of the EWSC Public Relations campaign.  This campaign was undertaken with the assistance of CUPE National to increase the profile of the education worker in Saskatchewan schools and to lobby the provincial government to return to its previous 60% level of spending for K-12 education.  Currently the government provides approximately 40% for education spending.
The "COOL Bus"  visited various locations in the province and heightened public awareness of the need for increased education funding, as well as promoted our workers.
Our theme for the tour was "Give Education a Hand", recognizing the dire need for increased government spending in the K-12 system.
In keeping with our theme, vinyl hands were signed by students, teachers, support staff and the general public and stuck to the outside of the "COOL Bus".  Postcards were also available to sign and collected on-site at bus events.  They were delivered to the provincial legislature on October 22, 2001.
A HUGE BOUQUET to all the education locals who hosted a
"COOL Bus"
event - your dedication and hard work made this campaign a tremendous success!

Support Our Schools...
We Do!

Dear School Supporters:
Each year school photos are taken.  Although our faces are not in the picture, we are part of every class in every school.
We are the support staff.
We care about "our kids" and our schools - which means we have a lot in common.  When you have time, let's talk.

Sincerely,
The 3,500 CUPE support staff
in Saskatchewan schools
